Some people have reoccurring kidney stones. 80% of all kidney stones are caused by a build-up of calcium. For people who have calcium kidney stones regularly, your doctor may prescribe Thalitone. Thalitone reduces the amount of calcium in the urine, preventing it from building up and solidifying.

Thalitone is a diuretic, meaning it will cause you to urinate more often. This can sometimes lead to dehydration, so drink plenty of water to counteract this effect. Other side effects are also possible, though Thalitone is generally considered safe and tolerable. It may cause a decrease in the potassium in the body, so your doctor may prescribe potassium supplements alongside it.

Thalitone has proven effective for many people, but it can interact negatively with other medications. It’s important that you consult with your doctor and provide a full medical history as well as other medications you are prescription (prescription and otherwise). Urocit-K

Potassium is necessary in the body, but too much can be a dangerous thing. Urocit-K may lead to a risky level of potassium in the body, so you may be required to have tests performed regularly to monitor the amount of potassium in your bloodstream. Other side effects may occur – some of them mild, some of them more extreme.
